Where are they now? Andre Woolridge

Andre Woolridge played point guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1994 to 1997. Woolridge started his college career at Nebraska before transferring to Iowa after his freshman year. Woolridge ended his career as Iowa's all-time assist leader, he has since been passed by Jeff Horner. In his senior season, Woolridge averaged 20.2 points and 6.0 assists per game and was the first player to ever lead the Big Ten in both scoring and assists in the same season. He was named first team All-Big Ten and third team All-American by the Associated Press.

Woolridge was passed up in the 1997 NBA Draft and decided to play professionally overseas in Turkey. He has since played professionally in France, Greece and Italy as well. Woolridge has been invited to some NBA training camps since his time in Turkey and also played for the Asheville Altitude of the NBDL in 2002 and 2003. The closest he has ever come to playing in the NBA was probably in 2000 when Andre was invited to participate in training camp for the Denver Nuggets. However, Woolridge was waived before the season started.

Currently, Woolridge is back playing in the Turkish Basketball League for Oyak Renault. They are currently 4-11 on the season and tied for 13th out of 16 teams in the league. Woolridge is leading the team in points and assists, averaging 15.2 points per game and 3.5 assists per game.
